I took this to a friends’ tea party, and was grateful to find an easy, dish perfect for cold fall weather. It was quick and simple to make, and a hit at the party. I love a good dump cake, and this did not disappoint!
I made the mistake of using the soft chewy caramels, and putting them in a measuring cup after cutting, instead of directly onto the pie filling. By the time I was done cutting them up, they were all pretty much stuck together. My fault, and wouldn’t have even been an issue if I’d used different caramels. Figured I’d point out my mistake, so someone else doesn’t make it too! Ha!

  3. I made this recipe for a funeral, only I used the whole bag of caramels to give the recipe more caramel flavor. There were lots of other desserts. However, I had people looking for the person who made this fantastic recipe which disappeared rapidly. I felt like I won the blue ribbon!
